Session Preparation Guide
The preparation for all intimate sessions is the same no matter if it's a full Boudoir, a Studio Fine art nude or creative shoot involving more of you than is typical.
*Full disclosure, I do not photograph the genitals or, in the case of intimate couples work, sexual activity involving the genitals.
WHAT TO WEAR ON THE WAY HERE: Don't sleep in tight fitting clothing the night before or wear tight fitting clothing to the studio on the day of your shoot. This prevents fabric markings in your skin.
BEAUTY HOUR: Your shirt should button or zip so it doesn't smudge your make up to change.
BUYING AND BRINGING LINGERIE: Be careful when ordering- sizes are tricky. Pay attention to shipping times. DO bring some of your own, just don't pack your entire closet- at best, 3 items are enough. There is simply not enough time to have a fashion show of all your lingerie. Anything you feel your best while wearing is fair game- it doesn't even have to be "lingerie"- we can make ANYTHING look sexy as long as you are in it!
HAIR & FACE: Arrive with clean, washed (not wet) hair and face- no sunscreen, please. If you choose the Make up only beauty option and must arrange for your own hair to be done, make sure that you arrive with your style already complete- you will not be able to do it after you arrive.
SPRAY TAN: Truth be told, you do not need to use fake tan products for your shoot- it only makes my job more difficult. It stains furniture and clothing if its fresh (applied within the last two days). It can also look orange and unattractive. I use flash in my work and that is very different than daylight. This may result in your skin color being very different than what you intended.
DEODORANT: Yes, wear it because you will work up a sweat- but use gel or aerosol. Solid white leaves a film that shows in pictures, especially on darker skin tones.
LOTION: Yes, wear it but please- No oil based products- it stains furniture, clothing and studio paper backdrops.
SKIN CARE: Please exfoliate your face and body prior to your session. Make up application and photography in general is a thousand times improved by this simple inclusion.
NAILS: Your hands and feet will be in your pictures. Have clean nails and minimize dry areas.
JEWELRY: I provide some jewelry for regular Boudoir clients. You may bring your own. Get fancy!
PROPS: Bring along special items that are personal to your partner if it is especially important or meaningful but I do not find props useful for my style of intimate portraiture. #ProTip: Wearing your partner's shirt only works if it's a few sizes too big.
Wigs/ Hair extensions: If you have elected to upgrade to both Hair and make up beauty services, please let me know that you will be wearing hair extensions- they require special attention to prevent damage during styling and the artists needs to be prepared. If you are going to wear a full wig and will arrive with it already in place, please pay special attention to the hairline. Lace front wigs are VERY noticeable as are other full wigs and certain poses will bring attention to the transition between the hair piece and your own natural hairline. I may not be able to remove any imperfections if the wig has not been placed carefully or blended properly with your own hair.
