Real glow or social media scam? All the tea about those glass skin collagen masks

When you book a photography session, you’re investing in memories that last a lifetime. Just like choosing the perfect outfit, your skincare prep plays a huge role in how radiant you feel in front of the lens. My goal is to capture your natural glow, and that starts with a smooth, hydrated canvas!
✨ Real Glow or Social Media Scam? ✨
We’ve all seen those viral videos: a liquid mask dries into a clear film, peels off, and reveals "instant" glass skin. But be careful—many $10 versions targeted in ads are just cheap films that don't actually benefit your skin.
If you want the esthetician-approved results that translate beautifully to camera, stick to these three vetted favorites for your pre-shoot ritual:
Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask: This is the viral "peel-off" liquid. It creates a breathable seal to lock in your entire skincare routine while you sleep, ensuring you wake up with a bouncy, hydrated look. 💦
Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask: A jelly sheet mask that starts opaque and becomes transparent as it absorbs. It’s the gold standard for deep, "lit-from-within" hydration. 🧊
Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask: A luxurious leave-on cream for those who want plumping and firming results without the mess of a peeling film. 🌸
The Expert Secret: These brands use hydrolyzed collagen (molecules small enough to actually hydrate) to give you that "glass skin" finish that makes editing a breeze!

Beyond the mask, here is how to ensure your skin is flawless by the time you step into the studio:
Hydrate from Within: Start increasing your water intake 3 days before your session. Hydrated skin looks plumper and minimizes the appearance of fine lines. READ THAT AGAIN
Avoid New Products: Never try a brand-new exfoliating acid or high-strength retinol the week of your shoot. You don't want to deal with unexpected redness or peeling on the day of! I've been using a prescription retinol for years and I'll tell you it takes a couple of WEEKS to acclimate.
Gently Exfoliate: Use a mild liquid exfoliant or a washcloth 48 hours before the shoot to remove dry patches so your makeup sits perfectly smooth.
The Night Before: Apply your favorite overnight mask (like the ones mentioned above after testing for tolerance) to seal everything in.
Morning Of: Stick to a simple routine—cleanser, a hydrating serum, and a lightweight moisturizer. Don't forget your SPF if we are shooting outdoors!
