The Christmas season has a way of arriving faster every year. Before you know it, holiday cards need to be mailed, gifts are waiting to be wrapped, and another year has passed without updating the family portrait.

A Different Kind of Christmas Session

Traditional Christmas mini sessions often schedule families every 15 or 20 minutes. One family leaves while another is already waiting.

While that works well for some, it isn't the experience I want to create.

Every Christmas portrait session at Pink Chair Photography is a private weekday appointment in my Goose Creek studio. There are no crowded waiting rooms, no audience watching your children, and no pressure to finish before the next family arrives.

Instead, your family has the opportunity to slow down.

Children have time to become comfortable. Parents can relax. We can laugh, play, and create genuine expressions instead of hurried smiles.

This quieter approach is especially appreciated by families with:

Sometimes slowing down creates the most meaningful portraits.

As a parent of neurodivergent children — and someone who's neurodivergent myself — I built the Virtual Santa Collection around what actually feels calm and manageable: no crowds, no waiting, no unfamiliar Santa up close. Time and space for your family to settle in and be comfortable with the process.

 

One of this year's featured sets is Santa's Living Room, a warm and inviting Christmas scene inspired by the comfort of home.

A Visit with Santa...Without the Crowds

For many children, seeing Santa is one of the most exciting parts of Christmas.

Unfortunately, it often means standing in long lines, visiting crowded shopping malls, and hoping little ones smile during a very brief visit.

My studio offers a different experience.

Instead of hiring a live Santa and rushing families through back-to-back appointments, I've created a collection of beautifully crafted Santa portraits that allow your child to appear as though they're sharing a genuine moment with Father Christmas inside Santa's Living Room.

These realistic Santa portraits include scenes where Santa is:

  • Holding a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift
  • Enjoying a warm cup of tea & a cookie beside the fire
  • Reading from the Naughty or Nice Book
  • Holding open his toy sack, ready to deliver Christmas surprises

After your portrait session, I carefully blend your child's portrait with one of these professionally created Santa images to create artwork that feels authentic, magical, and timeless. How are they looking at the Santa if he's not present in the studio? Ah- it's a magical secret just for you to discover during the session.  This is the core memory you create with your children- and it is so much fun for everyone!

The result is a portrait that looks like a private visit with Santa, without the crowds, long waits, or rushed experience.

Why I Don't Hire a Live Santa

You may notice that I don't offer traditional "meet Santa" events.

That's intentional.

My sessions are never scheduled back-to-back, and I believe every family deserves the time they need to relax, connect, and create beautiful portraits without feeling rushed. Hiring a live Santa would require tightly timed appointments throughout the day, which simply isn't the experience I want to provide.

Instead, I've invested in creating realistic Santa artwork that allows families to enjoy portraits that look magical while still preserving the calm, private atmosphere my clients appreciate.
